Worship Ministries

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

Active involvement in worship ministries is very important to the members of Christ the King, and there are many opportunities including:

Acolytes assist in worship by performing such functions as carrying the processional cross, lighting and extinguishing candles, assisting with the Eucharist, and holding the Gospel book during readings.

Altar Guild members assist the clergy in preparation for worship. Members of the Altar Guild are responsible for the care of the altar, church linens, and traditional decorations for special services.

Bread Bakers and Vintners are dedicated church members who make homemade bread and wine for use during the Holy Eucharist.
Lay Readers read the lessons from the Bible during the Liturgy of the Word. They lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People where we offer to God our intercessions and thanksgivings.

Chalicers assist the clergy by administering the cup of wine at Holy Communion.

Floral Decorations for the Altar are provided using funds donated by church members.

Ushers welcome members and guests to the church, hand out bulletins, provide direction and assistance when needed, collect the offering at the Offertory, and direct worshippers to and from the altar rail during Communion.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors take communion bread and wine to those who cannot attend services.
